Cars and women matched online

www.cartango.com has an online matchmaking service to help women find the right car, called Car soulmate quizz . Although the idea of helping women to decide which car is right for them seems a good idea, the survey has its flaws. The questionnaire is unduly lengthy and contains weird queries, such as: You do the tango, the mambo, the two-step, and the boot-scoot boogie. Which best describes your style? The guys get mad because you always lead, You’re a perfect dance partner—of course, you let your partner lead!, You don’t care—you’d just as soon dance with your friends.

These questions build on stereotypes seem to relate only to a small group of women. Moreover, the list of cars that is presented after filling out the survey seems more like a random list than a clear advice.

A website about cars for women does make sense. According to Nielsen Netratings, women account for 41,3% of visitors of automotive websites and are responsable for 65% of new car purchases. Also,  women have different criteria then men when it comes to buying cars and the way they come to make a decision is different too. . Some top priorities can be the same.

But what type of website is required? A less female centered, more transparent model that is trying to get into the conversation with female buyers, without alienating men, would work better. Anyone?
