Travel: Gogalavanting

recently launched magazine gogalavantingToday’s female traveller is smart, savvy, knows what she wants and is ready for adventure. That makes her very attractive to market to.

One recently launched magazine Gogalavanting.com is doing that. ‘To galavant ‘means to roam about in search of pleasure or amusement. It is not surprising that the on and offline travelmagazine, founded by two worldly women: Kim Mance and Katy Quissell, is a place where that is easy to do.

Gogalavanting provides travel news, tips, columns and an online community. But it has an intention beyond that, it also features interviews with female founders of companies that readers can support when they travel to the countries, as well as an eco-friendly and socially conscious travel section.

The founders describe the magazine as ‘dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences meant to challenge the conventional limits of women’s travel as well as to inspire, empower, and connect women to the people and places they visit.’

Kim Mance and Katy Quissel are both US based journalists with day jobs but with a passion for travel. They are joined by an impressive team of female writers, mainly US-based, that have lived and travelled all over the world.

Why only target women, it may be asked? ‘Because we can’ these women reply. And that holds increasingly true in a market where the majority of travels are booked by women.
