4 women in Top 50 Accenture Innovation Awards.
Over 200 concepts were submitted for the prestigious “Blue Tulip” award, which stands for the ‘best’ innovative concept in the Media en Communication industry, initiated by Accenture. Theo Huibers (Thaesis), Lara Ankersmit (Telegraaf.nl), Willem Sijthoff (Financieel Dagblad) and Simone Brummelhuis (founder thenextwomen) were amongst the 12 headed jury who selected the top 50 concepts, which the public can now vote on. 4 were initiated by women:
- 1% Club
- Boer zoekt Vrouw (Farmer in search of a wife)
- Myngle
- Wuzzon
The 50 selected concepts also have a chance to win the ‘Public’s Price’. Voting is now open for the public.
1%CLUB is an online market for development projects. Individuals and companies can contribute 1% of their income, time and knowledge to a development project of choice. “If everyone gives 1%, we can solve poverty structurally” is their motto.
The next female initiative is ‘Boer zoekt Vrouw cross mediaal’ of the KRO. The successful TV format `Boer zoekt Vrouw’ has been changed to a cross medial format in 2007. Beside the TV-program they initiated an interesting Internet site, a mobile Internet site with interactive possibilities and a large set up of a ‘Boer zoekt vrouw’ party and merchandising.
The third female concept in this list is a worldwide online marketplace for language courses named Myngle. Myngle brings world wide teachers and students together on an online platform were the teachers can give private lessons to students. The teachers can be approached directly depending on their level, availability and wishes.
The last female concept on the list is Wuzzon. Wuzzon is an online mobile content community. Wuzzon is the first and only community in the Netherlands, where it is possible for everybody to create a mobile content like ring tones, wallpapers and animated wallpapers. These mobile contents can be sold and uploaded.
Beside the award from the jury the female concepts are also listed for a public award.
From this week visitors can vote on one of their favourite concept of the top 50. Both awards will be handed out during the Media and communications Innovations Seminar at 23th October 2008.
