Online exhibition on Women, Power and Politics
The stories of women around the world fighting for their rights, are showcased in the online exhibition Women, Power and Politics of the offline International Museum of Women (IMOW). Every month this exhibition brings the untold stories of remarkable women who are claiming and exercising their power around the world.
The latest the topic was about campaigns and elections, and asked questions such as ‘Do women make unique contributions to the election process? Is campaigning more dangerous for women?.’ Very topical was one of the features ‘blogging about Sarah Palin.’ Read more
Women in management means protection against financial crises
New research shows that firms with a higher ratio of women in management have better resisted the financial crisis. Nearly all of the French national press, papers such as Le Monde and Le Figaro have reported on this study of Michel Ferrary, a professor of Human Resources at CERAM Business School.
Using data from companies in the CAC40, the equivalent to the FTSE 100, it is shown that the fewer women a company has in its management, the greater the drop in its share price since the beginning of the year; and the more women in management, the smaller the drop in share price. The market currently values risk adversity. Read more

Next Month, Motorola is launching a jewel-shaped mobile handset aimed at women, called the Moto Jewel. The handset is a flip-top phone ..in the shape of a jewel, indeed. Which of its features appeal to women is unknown. Motorola?
Blog08: A Report with questions to be answered
Last Friday was the first Dutch blogger conference Blog08. These were the questions that I came up with while being there:

‘Aren’t we all or shouldn ‘t we all be speakers at a bloggers-event?’. I think that a static and old fashioned panel discussion, as chosen at this conference, does not suit a blogger-conference. I would opt instead for a more interactive program i.e. small groups discussing whatever they like. I have attended several open space unconferences and know from experience that this makes an event far more lively. Read more

how the next generation women manages their finances
Mothers and daughters talk about financial topics more than sex, drugs or even politics, compared to the previous generation, where the most discussed topic between mothers and daughters was marriage.
These findings were published by Women& Co, a financial resource program for women, from Citi, who looked into how the new generation of affluent women deals with finances. Some of the key figures were:
- 94% of women are discussing financial topics with their daughters, compared to 54% who have discussed money with their own mothers, representing a 42% shift over the generations.
- 63% of affluent women consider themselves the CFO of their
