Launch: Wordia and the meaning of business woman

WORDIA, a new video dictionary has launched, a next-generation online dictionary. A team of language enthusiasts and general word nuts, headed by ex-Bebo Michael Birch, have joined forces to create a new kind of dictionary - a democratic ‘visual dictionary’. A place where anyone with a video, webcam or mobile phone can define the words that matter to them in their life. Suggestion for the first to video the meaning of business woman: 1) noun, a woman engaged in commercial or industrial business, especially as an owner or executive.

Like YouTube, it has a no-nonsense approach to dealing with abusive behaviour and the community itself needs to be vigilant and ‘report to moderator’ any content or comments that aren’t within the community guidelines.

Wordia is looking for people to complement the team, such as celebrity bookers and interaction designers.
