Pinking our phones
At TheNextWomen we have long said that simply making your product pink is not the way to reach female consumers..but the mobile phone industry keeps trying.
Next Month, Motorola is launching a jewel-shaped mobile handset aimed at women, called the Moto Jewel. The handset is a flip-top phone ..in the shape of a jewel, indeed. Which of its features appeal to women is unknown. Motorola?

It is surprising that consumer electronic producers still don’t get it. The Lady Geek research Belinda Parmar has conducted (www.ladygeek.org.uk) shows that clearly. Only 9% of women want pinked up phones. It is time that mobile phone producers get a bit more creative about what women want from a phone.
