Online exhibition on Women, Power and Politics
The stories of women around the world fighting for their rights, are showcased in the online exhibition Women, Power and Politics of the offline International Museum of Women (IMOW). Every month this exhibition brings the untold stories of remarkable women who are claiming and exercising their power around the world.
The latest the topic was about campaigns and elections, and asked questions such as ‘Do women make unique contributions to the election process? Is campaigning more dangerous for women?.’ Very topical was one of the features ‘blogging about Sarah Palin.’
IMOW is a social change museum, which defines as its mission connecting and inspiring those people that want to change women’s lives through powerful ideas and new ways of thinking. It is, in its own words ‘a ground breaking social change museum that advances the human right to gender equity worldwide.’
In 2006 IMOW launched its first online exhibition Imagining Ourselves: A Global Generation of Women. The project was very successful: it connected more than a million participants around the world and was awarded with the Anita Borg Social Impact Award.
