Fund for Technology Firms

The fund will see to raise 100m
Angel Investor brothers Andrew and Robert Rickman have announced the creation of a 100 million technology fund. The Rockley Follow on Fund is designed for UK tech businesses with a potential for international success.
With hand-outs of 5 to 15 million a year, the fund is looking at established companies in sectors such as the new media, information communication technology and data management sector. The first close is expected to take place in the summer of 2009 on €50m.
Rockley Group is also planning to raise a complementary sister fund to focus on investments in technology companies with a proven track record which are located outside the UK.
The fund is backed by investors such as John Laurie, Founder of venture consultancy Oxford Ventures Group and chairman of a number of technology companies in the UK, USA and China; and John Scott, senior fund manager at Oxford Ventures, British Technology Group and Strategic Capital Corporation.
