“La Night des Tech Women” for Female Technology Professionals in France

giw_night_animIf you live in Paris or are there this week, this is a MUST attend event.

As part of our European expansion, The NextWomen are partnering with French female technology professional networks such as Cyber-elles, Girlz in Web and Girls in Tech to organise a joint networking event called La Night des Tech Women.

On June 29, 2010, La Cantine in Paris will host Female professionals from the Technology and Web industries for the first combined networking event.

Although still outnumbered by men in the field of technology, the proportion of young women working in the Web and Technology in France, like in many other countries, is increasing. This event aims to support the growth of the community of entrepreneur and professional women in the world of Internet and Technology, as well as discuss women’s engagement in the industry, their access to funding and the paths to success.

As all networks share similar views and objectives – to grow the presence of women in this male dominated industry -a joint will allow many of the women-in-tech (and supporting men) to come together, share experiences, insights, advice and connections.

Sponsored by BearsTech and in partnership with Silicon Sentier and Le Newz, the event will start at 19h on Tuesday, June 29, with an introduction by Isabelle Germain, a journalist and author, founder of Les Nouvelles News, one of the event’s media partners along with Maviepro.fr, Youvox, Uberguyzmo and TechCrunch France.

The intro will be followed by a short presentation of each of the networks and a keynote by Sandrine Murcia, president of Silicon Sentier, former Regional Marketing Director at Google and Microsoft, turned tech entrepreneur. There will be lots of networking opportunities throughout the evening, over food and drinks.

The event is tomorrow evening, June 29th, in Paris. Attendance is free and you may sign up on the left hand side of the event page to save your place.
