The business is run by Sarah and Anneli Gascoyne. Until now, Balineum has been self-funded, but they are in the process of raising money.
ELINOR OLISA
Founder Degreeart.com
Established since 2003 Degreeart.com was the brain wave of two young, female graduates who started the business in their final year at university. Isobel Beauchamp and Elinor Olisa hit upon the idea when they noticed that nobody was tapping into the extensive creative talent that was emerging from London’s art and design schools. “We were looking at all the people graduating and then not utilising their degrees. There was a complete lack of support for graduate artists and at that time Ebay was becoming ever more popular but nobody was significantly selling the work of recently graduated artists.” says Elinor.
